There should be no shortage of potential profile subjects for this show: Nat Geo has just ordered a new series called Spoiled Rotten Pets.

As the nicely self-explanatory title suggests, the series is about pet owners who go over the top when taking care of their animals. Examples from the series include terriers getting their own lavish ?Bark Mitzvahs,? kittens taken to plush and extravagant cat spas and fawned-over ferrets dressed up for a ferret fashion show.

The series is hosted by Beth Stern (wife of Howard Stern), an animal advocate and?host of the HGTV series Mom Caves. The six-episode series starts production in September.

Nat Geo also greenlit Cesar Millan: Pack Leader, a one-hour documentary giving the behind-the-scenes story of popular animal behaviorist Millan. The story will chronicle?Millan?s rise from impoverished illegal immigrant to celebrity dog trainer to international celebrity.

?Cesar has been an integral part of the National Geographic family for many years now,? said Nat Geo executive vice president and general manager Geoff Daniels. ?We are incredibly excited to bring to television for the first time Cesar?s remarkable story with a comprehensive look back at his life, his phenomenal contributions and accomplishments.?
